Evaluation of GEANT4 and COMSOL Multiphysics Coupling Capabilities by Simulation of an Optimized Betavoltaic Battery

Evaluating the capabilities of GEANT4 code and COMSOL Multiphysics software can be achieved through coupling for an betavoltaic battery design. Spatial distribution deposited energy beta particles in semiconductor transducer has been simulated by using then, electron-hole pair generation rate obtained. Subsequently, output performances such as current-voltage (I–V) characteristics maximum electrical power have determined which from simulation was utilized input. Validation is done considering optimized planar battery. The results current study compared with other articles. are good agreement relative errors less than 8%. Our model extended to batteries semiconductors radioactive isotopes, provides a powerful tool predicting performance optimizing batteries.
